A big “Thank You!” to the Parent Council, who gave each class some money to spend. We are learning about money, and have made a shop for the classroom. However, the old till was broken, so we used our money to buy a lovely new one.

We’ve been working hard to use the sounds, blends and diagraphs we know to build words. We enjoy using lots of different resources to help us practise spelling words. Over the last couple of weeks we have used magnetic letters and letter stones.

Congratulations to all the children for learning and reciting their Scottish poem so well!
We made robin collages and tartan kilts for our display. We also had a great time dancing at the school ceilidh.

We’ve had great fun in the playground using our Social Play Packs. Now we know how to use all the activities, we take turns to use them at playtime. Anyone can add their name to the list if they want to have a go!

As our Golden Time Reward, we made frosty trees using sparkly pens and white chocolate finger. |They loked amazing…..but the best part was getting to eat the trunk!

The children who earned all their Golden Time last week made fruit fireworks. We have been learning that Hindu people light fireworks to celebrate Diwali. Lots of people also went to watch fireworks for Bonfire Night on the 5th November.

Welcome back!

We’ve already had a very busy start to our new term.

Our New topic is all about “Celebrations”. We have used a calendar to mark out all the different celebrations that happen between now and the Christmas holidays.

We have already been learning about tumshies and guising. We have also enjoyed making spooky paintings of haunted houses. Why not ask someone in Primary 2 how we did this?

The Next celebration we will be learning about is the Hindu festival of Diwali.

Star Monsters

Some of the children have been bringing “Star Monsters” into school and trading them with each other. This has resulted in a few arguments and tears, so Mr Devereux has asked the children not to bring them into school from now on. Can you please remind your child that these should stay at home.

Thank you
