CFE003 Learning for Sustainability – a Professional Learning Course for Teachers

This is a unique opportunity to attend an innovative professional learning event which draws together the 3 key elements of Learning for Sustainability: sustainable development, global citizenship and outdoor learning.

Experts from these fields will work with you over 2 afternoon sessions to explore the links which draw these elements together into a coherent whole, united by the aim of building learners’ capacity to develop practices and take decisions which are compatible with a sustainable and fair world.

The course has been developed in collaboration between the Forestry Commission, East Lothian Council Outdoor Learning and Scotdec Global Leaning Centre.

Aims:

  • To gain an understanding of how the 3 key elements of Learning for Sustainability are connected and how they can be successfully integrated within the teaching and learning experience

 

  • To share professional practice with colleagues
  • To become confident in identifying outdoor learning opportunities and ways to manage the process
  • Reflect on our own values and attitudes and how it impacts on our role as LfS practitioners

Course Dates:    30 September, 28 October from 1pm till 4pm

Pre-course task: You will be asked to complete a short self-evaluation before the first session
