On completion of the course, participants will:

  • Increased knowledge and understanding of the issues facing lesbian, gay , bisexual and transgender young people in Scotland
  • Explore the nature of homophobic, biphobic and transphobic discrimination and understand the impact of prejudice and discrimination on LGBT staff or stakeholders
  • Reflect on current practice and legislative changes in relation to LGBT equality
  • Develop best practice approaches to supporting and including LGBT young people

Outline of Programme:

LGBT Youth offer a tailored programme to ensure that we will meet specific learning needs and duties and can be beneficial for you in terms of self evaluation and How Good is Our School 4. LGBT Youth has worked with Education Scotland to identify and address key areas of concern e.g. homophobic language in schools.

Note: Each participant will receive an information pack via email. Pre- reading for schools is recommended, as this can enhance learning and deeper knowledge of legislation. This will be emailed to you in advance of the course.
