PC07 A day in the life of a P1 child

Wednesday 15 March 2017 5-7pm at East Linton Primary school

Session PC07: A day in the life of a P1 child

A Twilight Session designed for all practitioners working in Early Learning and Childcare in East Lothian as part of a series of twilight sessions to build our ambition to be reflective practitioners dedicated to delivering the highest quality early learning experiences. The sessions provide an ideal opportunity to develop a partnership network and to share practice

Session overview:

We all work in the early level of the Curriculum for Excellence but how much do we really know and understand of what happens next when the children leave our settings and transition into P1. This session will explore, as it says, a day in the life of a P1 child, how is it similar and how is it different from their experience of the early level in nursery? What are the expectations of the P1 team, parents and indeed the children themselves?

This session will enable practitioners to develop a deeper understanding of the learning that takes place across the whole of the early level and will also provide scope for the best and most constructive transition possible.

The session venue will be a P1 classroom and will involve round table discussions with a range of P1 Teachers from across East Lothian.

Session Tutor:

Louise Juhl and Wendy Hardie – East Lothian Partner Nurseries Support Teachers
