Some of you S1s are off to Cottbus this Easter so myself and Mr Docherty are teaming up to introduce you to the wunderbare deutsche language and Kultur. Lunchtime sessions will be held every Wednesday until you go (1.15-1.45pm) in ML5, Miss Ritchie’s room. Come and join us!
Here is what we learned today, 11th January:
Here are the notes for Wednesday, 18th January on how to order snacks:
The class today was all about asking where things are and working out our oponent’s strategy on the pitch!
Today we looked at signs around town that may be helpful to recognise. We also practised the phrases we’ve learned so far:
The fifth week of the Cottbus Cool Crew meetings and it’s great to see people like Ren, Elliott, Gregor, Lewis, Johnny and Finlay turning up so regularly. Well done boys!!
After a nice week’s holiday, it was a pleasure to see the usual boys back to the German session with their infectious enthusiasm! We looked at some of my old football memorabilia from a previous lifetime and covered some important football vocab:
This week (Wed 7th March) we started a quiz about Germany. Quiz sheets to be handed in next week to claim a prize on the final week! The plan for the next 3 lunchtimes is to enjoy the film “Das Wunder von Bern” (The Miracle of Bern) and on the final Wednesday we will have a lunchtime German party 🙂 Come and join us!
We also checked out the back of our homework diaries to find some useful phrases and numbers.
Aaaaand we went on a couple of websites:
BBC Languages German has some really good stuff, including “A fan in Germany” which has some football phrases that are worth a look, and a comedian talking about “What’s so funny about German?”
Guten Morgen, Guten Tag with JC and Kaiser (the dog) introducing some everyday German expressions in a really easy-to-remember way.
Have fun exploring lads, more next Wednesday!
