S4, S5 and S6 pupils will have prelims throughout the period of 14th January until 4th February inclusive. East Lothian Council secondary schools will not have study leave for prelims this year. Pupils are expected to attend classes as normal other than when they are in an exam. You can find the prelim timetable here.
Some National 5 subjects are taken by S4 pupils only. These will take place from Wednesday 14th January until Friday 16th January. S4 pupils will go on work experience from Monday 19th – Friday 23rd January inclusive. A small number of National 5 prelims will then take place throughout the period of Wednesday 28th January until Wednesday 4th February – these subjects are taken by S5 and S6 pupils, as well as S4.
Higher and Advanced Higher prelims will take place from Monday 19th January until Wednesday 4th February.
National 5 and Intermediate 2 Hospitality practical exams are largely outwith the diet due to the nature of the subject and resources required.
Most prelims will take place in the hall.
While every effort has been made to spread out subjects and levels as evenly as possible, as with every year, a small number of pupils will have 3 National 5 exams on one day or concordant exams (running at the same time). Any pupil, in S4 or S5 or S6, who finds themselves in this situation should see Mrs Moore and arrangements will be made, rescheduling as necessary.
