This year, the Shakespeare drama group performed Much Ado About Nothing, a comedic play by Shakespeare. The play focuses on two couples. Claudio and Hero are sweet and loving, but he rejects her at their wedding because he is tricked into believing that she has been unfaithful. Benedick and Beatrice start off in a battle of wits, however are coerced into admitting their love for one another. They then help to set things straight between Claudio and Hero, and both of the couples get married.
The actors rehearsed throughout the duration of the school year. Shakespeare plays take a lot of time to understand and prepare for performance, but it’s well worth it. “Drama helps inspire confidence and develops presentation and communication skills”, says a student. The actors gained a lot of theatre experience and enjoyed putting on the production as a group. The ukulele club also made an appearance with an introductory song. Well done to all cast and crew who participated in the show!
