We arrived on Sunday after a 26 hour bus journey. Everyone was so glad to get there and see their cabins. After lunch we went down to the river and had fun in the water. Our first activity early on Monday morning was canyoning, which was amazing, probably the best activity of the trip. We then went to a little town for
ice-cream and to look round the shops.
The following day we went to the Haribo museum and everyone bought lots of sweets. Later, we went to a historic town called Avignon. We had our lunch in the gardens which were really pretty. Then we went to the centre and looked around the shops and had a go on a carousel. When we got back to the PGL centre we had a water fight in the river before we had a karaoke session in the bar.
Wednesday was our first day canoeing down the Ardèche and it was extremely picturesque. We canoed 16km and by the end of the day everyone’s arms were aching. That evening we had a quiz. On Thursday we canoed the rest of the Ardèche which was a further 14km. We stopped for ice-cream before heading back to the centre. Overall, the canoeing was fabulous. We had our disco that night and it was lots of fun.
Friday was our last day and in the morning we tried archery and climbed Jacob’s Ladder. Then we had lunch before going on the Hannibal Trek. Then sadly everyone had to pack and get ready to go.
PGL was the best trip ever! Everyone had so much fun and people even cried when we left.
