Primary 1 had a great time at their Christmas Party yesterday. Here are some photos of the fun and games!
We had a fun filled afternoon in the playground on Monday to end our environment topic. We sang songs around the campfire, enjoyed toasted bananas, played games in the tipi and worked with a partner to complete a night line through the woods.
Take a look at our photos to see all the fun things we got up to!
We hope you all enjoyed our nativity performance. Here are some of the pictures that we took of your little stars this week.
This term in maths our focus has been symmetry. We have been completing symmetrical pictures and creating our own symmetrical pictures.
Click on the links below if you would like to access the symmetry games we have been playing on the laptops:
Top Marks – Symmetry – In this game we had to identify whether the pictures were symmetrical or not. We had to look carefully to check where the line of symmetry was as it sometimes tried to trick us!
Reflective Symmetry – In this game we completed symmetrical patterns. Click ‘random’ for a symmetrical picture for your child to complete.
Last Monday, Primary 1 enjoyed an Enjoy-a-Ball session with Scott Smelly Socks. We played lots of games which got us thinking about space and how important it is to change direction when running away from our opponents.
Scott told us that he has a few spaces left in his P1 after school session. For more information please see the letter that came home in reading packets last week.
This term Primary 1 are learning about their local environment. Over the past couple of weeks they have been exploring in the playground. They have done a colour scavenger hunt and have been creating art, using natural materials, in the style of Andy Goldsworthy.
Please let us know if you can help us on any of our trips that we have coming up. Please see the letter that came home in reading packets last week for more information.
Welcome to the Primary 1 Blog! We are aiming to update it weekly with information about what we have been learning and useful reminders.
