Our S3 pupils enjoyed their trip to Our Dynamic Earth. They took part in a Climate Change Workshop; learned about the effects of Space on Astronauts Bodies, and the search for Alien Life-forms in the 3D Show Dome; and got up close with an iceberg and the tropical rainforest in the galleries.
On Wednesday 30th October the AH Biology pupils attended a Genetics workshop at the Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh. Pupils extracted their own DNA to find out if they carried the gene that allowed them to taste the chemical PTC. They then put this to the test by heading to Nandos for lunch.
All our S1 were taking part in a Rapid Response Earthquake challenge this week. In Science they had to work out how to filter and decontaminate water.
The winning group that had the cleanest water were James, Alistair, Hamish and Blaine. Well done…excellent technique!
Our S1 pupils have been learning about plant and animal reproduction. Dr. Kennedy’s 1.1 class carried out a flowering plant dissection and Erin Clark presented all the separate organs perfectly. She even removed each individual little ovule. Have a look at how neat her work was…
