Website club update

The Website Club by Jacob
The website club has made some major improvements to the St. Marys school website.
The website used to be dull and boring but now we have a new banner and an opening slide show.
We have all done sterling work in making this website a lot better.

So far 655 people from all around the world have viewed our website, including people from Japan, Peru and Malaysia.

On behalf of the website club I would like to thank all the people who have posted comments on our site.
We really appreciate it.

Christmas at St Mary’s

The last few weeks have been very busy at St Mary’s. The hampers you kindly donated items to, have been delivered to nursing homes in Haddington. The children’s hampers this year were won by Charlie Smith, Hannah Hogg, Calum Rettie and Georgina Doctor.
Our Christmas concert at Knox Academy was a great success. The boys and girls did us proud as usual, their voices filling the large hall superbly.
We finished the term by holding our Christmas parties, a great way to round everything up.
We would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas time.

Cinderella

Recently Primary 5/6 have been doing activities around the story of Cinderella. In our Literacy and English, we looked at using similes to describe the characters in Cinderella, and then wrote short pantomime sketches around the story, (“OH YES WE DID!”) In I.T we looked at the work of Lauren Child, an author of many books for children. She uses a mixture of drawings, real photos and textures to illustrate her stories, so our challenge was to create a scene from Cinderella in the style of Lauren Child.
You can read about how she creates her illustrations here:
