East Lothian Council’s Education Service are currently developing a new Anti Bullying Policy and are carrying out a consultation on this subject with our pupils/staff/parents.

As always, the parents of each class are being asked to PLEASE HELP with an area of the fair.
Your class rep is there to co-ordinate, not organise everything. We are always short of helpers, so please please come forward!!!
As usual we are looking for donations of toys, books, games, school uniforms, children’s clothes, and tombola prizes (adults & children). Donations can be dropped at school from 1st June.
Baking and plants are also requested, please drop at school on 17th & 18th June.
The bikes & Scooters stall will sell on your behalf with a percentage going to the school – just bring bike/scooter in on the morning of the fair and please put a price tag on.

What does Yester Parent Council do?
The Council exists to:
- Support the school in its work with pupils
- Represent the views of parents and increase their involvement in school activity
- Increase communication between pupils, school, parents and community
- Support the school through fundraising and then works with the school to allocate it to suitable projects.
- Represent Yester in the wider East Lothian Association of Parent Councils with other schools in the area.
Examples of what we do
We provide input, from a parent point of view, on plans and developments within the school. For example; the school transport plan, improvements to the playground or homework policy.
We organise fundraising events such as a Halloween Parties, Christmas & Summer Fairs, Ceilidhs and Quiz Nights. The money raised goes to buy materials and equipment for the school. The Parent Council work with the school to decide the best ways to spend the money.

On behalf of the Parent council we wish to thank all who kindly donated prizes and supported the raffle in aid of school funds and we are delighted to announce that through your generosity we have raised £1335.00 (profit) which will in various ways help the school management in the education of the pupils.
