Primary 7 spent the day in character as World War 2 evacuees today. We had great fun setting up the classroom like a 1940’s classroom, only using surnames, having several air raids, playing 1940’s playground games, having an evacuation and a fashion show. Today is the first time ever that my class have demanded ‘Please be more strict with us’ as I tried to keep a straight face in character as ‘Miss’. For more pictures please visit the P7 page.
Primary 7 have been learning all about World War 2 this term. The class have created amazing Anderson shelters for their homework. The standard of work has been incredible. We have shelters made from wood, cardboard, clay, Lego, metal and even one made of cake that we were able to eat! Here is a picture of some of the amazing shelters. For more detailed pictures please visit the P7 page.
Congratulations to P7 on their amazing performance at the East Lothian Tag Rugby Tournament this morning.
All 3 of our teams were undefeated. The girls won the Fair Play Trophy and the boys made it through to the semi-finals and then final, finishing in second place overall out of 21 teams.
I am delighted at the attitude and commitment shown by all P7s at this event. It was a pleasure to take you and you represented the school brilliantly. For more information and photos please view the P7 page.
Congratulations to the school netball team who competed in the East Lothian Schools Netball Tournament on Thursday. There was some tough competition this year. We won several matches and finished in a very respectable third place.
We had a great team spirit and played fantastically well together.
Well done to everyone on the team and thank you to Rorie’s mum for helping out on the day.
We were very lucky this week to have a visit from Helen from the SSPCA. Helen told us lots of interesting facts about what the SSPCA do and different wild animals in Scotland.

In our language work this week we have been using apostrophes and also continuing with persuasive writing.
In our PE this week we developed our golf skills further with some fun team games and activities. We had to put the ball accurately and chip it over some ‘fences’. These were tricky skills, but everyone had a good attempt.

Congratulations to the Yester School Netball Team who came second in this morning’s East Lothian Netball Tournament.
Everyone played fantastically well and we managed to remain undefeated throughout all of our matches.
The team had a super team spirit and represented the school very well. This was our first season of netball and for a team who were recently formed and don’t have previous experience of competitive matches this was a great achievement. I am very proud and already looking forward to next year!
