The eduBuzz.org WordPress site has moved to a new server system today, and testing is in progress. This is later than expected, due to the volumes of data involved.
Please don’t panic if you notice that recent posts (since 00.00hrs on Monday) have vanished. Arrangements are in hand to restore these later today and tomorrow.
This is being done to improve the capacity, efficiency and reliability, by having it run by a company, DXW, which specialises in running WordPress sites for public sector customers.
Testing so far has identified the following issues. Please leave a comment or contact us (support@edubuzz.org) if you notice any others.
Site addresses without the “www” part are not working. For example, if you want to access https://edubuzz.org/law, you will currently need to go to http://www.edubuzz.org/law.Uploaded images are not displaying correctly. Attempting to access them individually via their URL fails on a permissions error.- Uploading files to a site may generate a “Error … Unable to create directory wp-content/blogs.dir/xxx/files/2013/12. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
- Some existing uploaded header image files, and files in Media Gallery, are inaccessible.
