We joined our Buddies in Nursery for a visit from the Fire Service! They told us about fighting fires and how we can prevent them. We also got a shot of the hose!
Brilliant fun!

As part of Health Month, our class worked with Colin from “Destination Judo.” We put on some judo jackets and had great fun learning about judo and how it keeps us active and healthy.
We need to remember that judo is not for the playground!

We are very excited to have Moira from the Youth Music Initiative working with P1, P1/2 and P2/3 at the moment. She is helping us to write a musical production called “The River Path.” We will perform our production to parents on Friday, 26th June at 11:15 in the hall. Hope to see you there!

I hope you all received your child’s report card last week and have enjoyed reading it. A polite reminder that the cut off slip should be signed and returned to school as soon as possible.

There is going to be a “Blooming Tea Party” Coffee Morning in school on Friday, 19th June from 9:00 – 11:30. This will be in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
We’d be grateful for any donations of home baking , which can be sent into school nearer the time.
It would be great to see lots of people there! If you would like to support this event, but can’t make it into school, the children can put your donation into the pot on your behalf.
We worked with our Nursery Buddies this morning. Mrs Munro and Mrs Jamieson had exciting news for us. We are hoping that the fire engine will come to school next Monday!
The Firefighters asked if we would do a little work together before they came to talk to us.
They asked us to watch this film about the importance of staying safe near matches.
Next, we helped our Buddies to colour in some pictures for the firefighters.

We are all looking forward to seeing the fire engine next week!

Over the next couple of weeks, our class are learning about symmetry.
This morning, we looked at our reflections and talked about about mirror images. We used the mirrors to discover what the other half of a butterfly would look like.
We cut some symmetrical shapes and marked the lines of symmetry. We also drew and coloured symmetrical designs on eggs.
Next, we coloured some symmetrical designs…..some of the were very challenging!
