The children have been learning about the first Christmas and the characters in the story. They made beautiful  3D nativity scenes to show who was in the story.

The Primary 7 children explained how our Christmas post box works…
If you want to send a Christmas Card to your friends, write their name AND CLASS on the front of the envelope, then post it in the box at Alan’s office. All the classes take turns to sort the post and deliver the cards to the children in school!

Another catastrophe in the North Pole!
Rudolph kicked over the magic reindeer dust and Santa asked us to make some with our Nursery Buddies.
The Elf on the Shelf even told us the rhyme to put the magic in the dust…..but don’t ask the children…..it’s top secret!

All the children in school are busy making table decorations for our Christmas Lunch on Wednesday. We asked our friends in Primary 6 to come and help us make some crackers.

We had a great afternoon- thank you Primary 6!

A reminder that the Charities Club are organising a Christmas Dress-up Day on Friday, 12th December.
They have suggested that the children wear anything Christmassy – from jumpers, hats or a simple piece of tinsel and donate £1 to Save the Children.

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas…..

I am sure the children have told you that we have an elf in Primary1 – The Elf on the Shelf!

He sits on our Advent calendar and sometimes leaves us letters.

He asked us to make some advent calendars, which we did. We colour a picture in every day to help us count down to Christmas.

We have also made some Santa counting games and have enjoyed Christmassy activities in Learning Areas….

But the biggest excitement was the mess in the classroom this morning! Today’s letter said that Santa had come to take the elf back to the North Pole because there had been a CATASTROPHE! We had lots of discussions around what the catastrophe might be!

When we looked at the sand tray, there was white powder everywhere. There were also big footprints (Santa’s we thought.)

Mrs Jamieson had to clear it all up. When we came into the classroom after lunch, the Elf had turned the powder into magic snow – it doesn’t feel cold and it never melts! Amazing and VERY exciting!
