We’ve had a busy day learning about telling the time.
We made some clocks to help us!
Our Clocks on PhotoPeach
We used them to make the different times in this song. Mrs Jamieson gave us our clocks to take home.
Homework….
Can you work with a grown-up to make all the different times in this song using your clock?
Our Primary 7 Buddies have also been helping us to learn about time.
They took us into the playground and showed us how to play “What’s the Time Mr Wolf?” They also helped us to make o’clock times on our clocks and write o’clock times on our worksheets. They even made a matching pairs/snap game for us. We put these games into our schoolbags to play with a grown-up at home too!

Thank you Primary 7!

This morning, Amy from the SPCA came to talk to the children in Nursery, Primary 1,2 and 3. We found out what Amy does to help look after animals who have been hurt. She told us that sometimes she has to catch snakes in a pillow case and about a man finding a tarantula in his towel cupboard………

A reminder that the children in the Charities Club are selling red noses at playtimes. Noses cost £1. We are hoping that someone opens a Golden Nose – then we can win an exciting animation prize for our school!
We were very excited to have two scientists working with us this afternoon. They were called Jack and Billy. They put on a show called “Night and Day.” It was great fun to watch – some of us even got to take part. We learned about the Earth orbiting the sun and how different parts of the world have night and day at the same time.

Lots more hard work on addition this week.
We have been practising recording our calculations vertically in our squared jotters. We have also been using different strategies to help us solve addition problems. We made a big wall display in the classroom to show all the different things we can do to help us add.

We have used numberlines, finger calculators, number rainbows and addition facts to help us.

Every week, Primary 1 use the school lap-tops. For a lot of children, it’s the most exciting time of the week!
We have been practising hard and can now open the computers and log in with our user name and password. We have been looking at the different applications on the computer and have made these amazing drawings using ActiveInspire (the same application that Mrs Jamieson uses on the big board.)
Our pictures are displayed in the cloakroom.
