This week in maths, we are learning about displaying information. Today, we used pictures to help us show our favourite colour of teddies and our favourite vegetables.

A chart which uses pictures to organise information is called a “pictogram.”

We have been talking and thinking about what we would do if we got lost!
We read a story about Kipper losing the magic key. We talked about how everyone felt in the story.

Next, we thought about the things we could do to make sure we don’t get lost…

  • hold a grown-ups hand
  • hold onto the shopping trolley
  • tell a grown-up where you’re going

We also talked about what we would do if we got lost in the street, in the supermarket and in the cinema. Who could you go to for help?

For homework, your child should have brought home a sheet to help them learn their name, address and telephone number. Please return to school when your child knows this information off by heart.
