We have been very busy making our decorations to sell at the Christmas fair.

We were all part of The Wonderful Elf Christmas Factory and everyone had a

special role.  We are all very proud of our work!

Flat Stanley!

We had a wonderful afternoon!  Mr Watson visited us to talk about Flat Stanley and some of the adventures he has had.  We even made our own flat characters.  We have something exciting happening over the next few weeks!!!!!!

Winter Term

We hope everyone had a fantastic holiday. We will be covering lots of exciting things this term including:-

Numeracy and Maths:- We will be continuing with our measure work, but this time focusing on length and weight. Also we will be using what we have learned about place value to further our addition and subtraction and looking at numbers up to 1000.

Language:-  In writing we will again be looking at functional, personal and imaginative genre. We will be writing letters, instructions, science reports, incorporating speech and looking at effective ways to start our writing in order to add impact to our work.  We will also be doing some dictionary work and continuing with the work we are doing on grammar and writers’ craft.

Inter-disciplinary Learning :- With Mrs McKerron, we will be continuing our work on Sound and Vibrations and beginning Magnetism.  With Mrs Thomson we will be going on to learn all about water.

And of course …Christmas!!!!!! (crafts, singing, Nativity …the list goes on..)

Learning about sound!

We have been very busy being scientists and learning that sound is caused by vibrations. We carried out experiments involving drums and rice, rulers, instruments and pictures of animal ears!
