Weekly update #24

The week coming up is going to be an exciting ride, so hang on to your hat!

Rugby is on Monday, PE on Tuesday is likely to be African dizumbee ball with Scott Marnoch, so maybe outside, and finally there is cricket on Thursday. It might be easier to keep outdoor PE kit in school all week. All the best to Annie, Beth and Lucy who are competing in the East Lothian cross country competition on Monday.

On Tuesday 1st the class will have their first experience of driving a car. This is part of the Scottish Government’s new scheme called Young Drivers of the Future. For week 1 of the course we will be sticking to the roads in Gifford. The course will be delivered by Andy from Fast Track Driving School.

We will be building (and then destroying!) some model cities this week so children need to remember any Lego mini figures, toy cars etc they were planning on bringing in. In maths we will be continuing to learn about using area – this week the class has been designing a new headquarters for MI6. In language we have been concentrating on reading and writing public information leaflets.

On Tuesday I may be out of class in the morning and teaching in the afternoon, the reverse of our normal arrangement. Remember that it is the Easter assembly at 2pm on Wednesday which all parents are welcome to attend. Parents’ evening is on Thursday and I’m looking forward to sharing with parents the many successes since our last meeting.

Please check out the latest photos and posts by the class below.

And then it’s the holiday! Happy Easter, everyone.
