If you wish to create and share audios on the Internet, one of the easiest ways you can do this is with SoundCloud.
SoundCloud was originally created to share music, but it can be used for audio recordings you want to make with your class.
In this short Blog Post, I will show you how to do the following:
1. Create A SoundCloud Profile
2. Upload Audio Using Your Computer
3. Upload Audio on Your Tablet or SmartPhone
4. Embed Audio From SoundCloud in Your Blog
I hope you find this useful and would love to see what you can do with it. If you click here you can see an of the first audios I did with St Martin’s Primary School.
I then embedded the audios in Blog Posts the children had written like the one here.
Remember when you are watching the videos you can click on them to watch them in Fullscreen mode.
LESSON 1: CREATING YOUR SOUNDCLOUD PROFILE.
In my video below, I show you how to create a Profile for you to upload Your audios to. You need an email address, password and decide what your username will be.
Please remember when uploading images to make sure it is legal to do so, and the same with any sounds you use.
LESSON 2: UPLOADING YOUR AUDIOS TO SOUNDCLOUD USING A COMPUTER
In the video, I show you how to do this with your computer. You need a laptop or computer with a built in Webcam or mic that you can plug in to record directly to SoundCloud.
Alternatively, you can create an Audio File using something else and then Upload it to Your Profile.
In the 3rd Video, I will show you how to do this with a Tablet or SmartPhone.
LESSON 3: UPLOADING VIDEO ON YOUR TABLET OR SMARTPHONE.
If you have a Tablet or Smartphone, there may be a SoundCloud App that you can use. If you do this, you can easily record the audio and upload it to be edited and shared/embedded in a blog post later.
In my Video below, I do this with an iPad.
LESSON 4: Embedding A SoundCloud File in A Blog Post.
Although there are a number of plug ins that will help you to do this, in my Video I will show you the simplest way to do this via the SoundCloud Share Option.
I hope you find my videos helpful and have realised if you watched my videos that this is something that can be easily done.
