We have been learning about the five senses that we have and how we use them. We have been using a variety of scented resources encouraging the children to describe what they can smell. We had tough spots filled with jelly, shaving foam, and mushy peas etc for the children to play in or walk through. We went out for a walk and during this time the children were describing things they could see, hear, feel and smell. We also talked about the tastes and flavours of foods at snacks and lunch times and the children said which foods they liked and didn’t like the taste of. We also explored a variety of optical illusions and participated in an activity where we covered our eyes and let our hands and ears guide us.We have also been learning about animals, where they live and what their babies are called. We have enjoyed learning about people who help us and the children created a dentists surgery in the home corner. The children have also been interested in dressing up pretending to be princesses and knights and dancing to music.
