Building Foundations for the Future!

Cruisers celebrated Robert Burn’s Day by making their own tartan pictures using cars which they rolled through a variety of colours and rolled across their paper. We also made thistles by painting our hands green and purple and doing hand prints on the paper. We tasted some different Scottish foods too including haggis, porridge, shortbread and tablet! Yummy!

The children have been interested in making marks on paper with pens and pencils, some saying they were ‘writing letters’ so we have been encouraging this and have provided pencils and paper envelopes for writing letters which we then posted in our post box.

We have been learning colours through different activities including matching, tactile and art activities. We are going to introduce colour of the week into the cruiser room where we will focus on a different colour each week to help develop colour recognition.
