This month the toddlers have been really enjoying planting and doing activities to do with Spring. We planted some sunflowers and some cress. They enjoyed using their gross and fine motor skills to move the soil into the plant pots and then they poured the seeds into the pots and used watering cans to add water. We also spoke about what flowers need to grow and went up to preschool to play some planting games on the genie board. They loved pressing the items that flowers and plants needed to grow and watching them grow if they had chosen correctly. We have also been doing lots of artwork to do with the spring time. We used string and tissue paper to create some beautiful flowers on paper. We went for a walk recently to see what colours and kinds of flowers we could find and afterwards the children wanted to make some daffodil pictures. We painted our hands yellow and pressed them onto the paper. Afterwards we painted some straws green and stuck them onto the paper and added a cupcake case in the middle of the flower as the trumpet of the daffodil.
