Caterpillar Room

In August the Caterpillars have been exploring a range of textures, from wet textures to dry textures. We have been gluing with coloured rice, which we dyed with food colouring. Also we have provided various materials for the children to feel e.g cellophane, corrugated card and pipe cleaners in different colours. And we have used our basic provisions; sand, water and paint, to incorporate textures! The children enjoyed shaving foam to explore too.

We have recently updated our story corner and added black and white cushions and bold designs on the wall. This is very stimulating for younger babies and Helps with their visual development.

In the caterpillar room we have also brought in the soft play equipment to develop gross motor skills and encourage safe climbing. This has interested the children who are now cruising around the furniture and becoming curious about climbing!
