This month, the Ladybirds have been showing a lot of interest in colour recognition. We have been developing our colour recognition though working in small groups with colour activities and also during everyday goings-on such as talking about at the colour of plates we have at snack time, or the colour of the cars or flowers when we are out on a walk. The Ladybirds are getting on great with this!

We have also been going on lots of walks to collect leaves, twigs and sticks for our autumn display and to see the change on the trees too. The children have enjoyed going on walks and helping to collect these items, before using them to decorate our display. We have also been using the leaves and trigs to paint with and create marks on our paper.

In the Ladybird room, we are also re-introducing group times throughout the day, we are encouraging the children to join us before morning snack for a story and some songs before going to wash their hands. The children seem to be enjoying this and love choosing the songs we sings, and the stories that we read.
