Building Foundations for the Future!

Rainbows

This month the Rainbows have been trying to build our independence.  We have been practicing washing our dishes after snack time, putting our own shoes, jackets and wetsuits for the garden and also sourcing our own resources for the writing table ourselves.  Our teachers have added and labeled some drawers with our resources for our writing table so we can get it independently.  We have lots of new things like ink pads, chalkboards, different textured paper and lots more!

We have really enjoyed exploring with our water tray this month, adding different scents and colours to it.  We always help our teachers decide what to put in it in the mornings.  So far we’ve had strawberry, lemon and orange scented water and all the colours of the rainbow!

We’ve really been enjoying exploring nature this month.  We’ve collected lots of autumnal things from our walks we’ve been on.  We’ve been to Polson park to see the chickens, turkey, horses and the ducks.  We really enjoyed looking at them as the farmer threw their feed down in front of us behind the fence!  We have also been for a few walks down the Heugh and have found plenty of sticks, leaves, helicopter leaves and even some conkers to explore!

We have enjoyed getting messy this month, as always!  We’ve had plenty of different messy things in our sand and water trays.  We had some shaving foam to create an icy landscape for our Arctic animals.  We also had some mud out in a tuff spot for our dinosaurs and minibeasts to roam around in.  We’ve had great fun!
