The Ladybirds have been doing more baking this month. The children were all given bowls with the ingredients to make biscuits with to explore, they used their hands, mouth and nose to explore the different ingredients, before using a spoon to mix them other. After the biscuits were made, we got to enjoy them for snack!

We have also been developing our group Autumn display, by creating handprint leaves and using corks to create marks on some hedgehog templates. The Ladybirds also used cotton buds and paint to create lovely pictures, we used autumn tress as our inspiration. Through this activity, we developed our hand-eye co-ordination using a dabbing technique to mark the paper with the paint.

For our Halloween week, we painted cardboard pumpkins, bats and ghosts for our Halloween display. The children developed their waiting and turn taking skills during this activity as they shared the paintbrushes with their friends. During the activity, we also practiced our identification of colours using the paint; with a little support from staff the Ladybirds were able to say all the colours of paint! We also explored jelly in our water tray with different Halloween characters in it and read some spooky storied which we borrowed from the local library.
