Caterpillar Room, February
The Caterpillar room have been creating a family tree display, where we used paint and sponge rollers to make a tree for the wall. We also included parents in our display, by asking for a family photo from home to stick up. The children have been showing interest in this and have been pointing to their photo.
Also we have been exploring textures recently, using both dry and wet textures. Staff have provided lentils, dry peas and porridge oats for our dry tuft spot. Our wet tray has had; shaving foam, scented gluck and baking cakes for one of the children’s birthdays. The caterpillars have enjoyed using their senses to explore the textures. Some of the children are gaining confidence with these tactile activities.
The Caterpillars have also welcomed Aliya this month into the room.
