Building Foundations for the Future!

Ladybird, April 2017

This month we have been developing our fine motor skills through a range of activities. We explore chickpeas with different containers and used both printer and Palmer grips to pick up the chickpeas and place them in. We also brought in the guttering which the Ladybirds enjoyed rolling the chickpeas down  we then moved onto to seeing what else we could roll down the guttering, using balls, cars, small characters (the balls worked the best!).

We have also been following the life cycle of our caterpillars. We watched the caterpillars turn into pupas and finally into butterflies. The Ladybirds have been creating lovely art work to go on our walls using caterpillars and butterlies as their inspiration.

The Ladybirds have been enjoying baking cakes this month too, which we have been enjoying at snack time!
