Building Foundations for the Future!

Ladybirds, May 2017

This month the Ladybirds have been practicing their colour recognition and counting to 10 in sequence. We have been practicing this at group time in the morning as well as throughout our everyday routine and activities. To support this we also went to the library and borrow some books on colour recognition and counting.

Last Friday we joined up with the Rainbow room and took part in a heuristic day! The Ladybirds loved exploring a variety of boxes, tubes, containers and cardboard. Leo and Ben particularly enjoyed climbing into the boxes and hiding and jumping off the large piles of cardboard onto the floor! We also brought the heuristic materials into the room and used them for junk modelling, which we decorated with glue, paint, googly eyes and lots of other materials.

As the weather is getting nicer, we have been spending more time out in the garden exploring the water wall, fairy garden and getting muddy in the mud kitchen! The Ladybirds have been enjoying home made ice lollies to keep them cool during this time.
