The Butterfly room has recently changed layout as we got our new flooring put in and now have the room half carpeted and half Lino. The children have loved the new flooring and layout love playing in the different areas. Recently we have changed our home corner into a shop and brought in a till, baskets, packets of foods and a trolley. The children have really been interested in messy play recently so we have been doing lots of messy play with shaving foam, cooked spaghetti Gluck and flour. We also made a new sensory board to help further the children’s interests in textures and sensory play and also sensory bags with paint, flour and oats.
The Butterflies have also taken an interest in being outdoors whilst it’s raining and love to get their wet suits and wellies on and splash in all the puddles. We have made a new display about muddy puddles using muddy puddle footprints that were made by the children using brown paint and welly boots and we have also included pictures of the children with their wet suits and wellies on, for them to look at. We also brought in some new construction toys including an interactive car garage and new cars (larger ones). We also brought in dress up hats, bags and sunglasses as the children have been using our home corner sink as a hat!
