Building Foundations for the Future!

Caterpillars June 2017

The caterpillars have been busy exploring different types of messy play, using dinosaurs which they have enjoyed. We have used paint for stomping in and crunchy cereal too! Also the children have used soil, gluck and water. The children have been very interested in the food play, so staff  have introduced cooked spaghetti to extend their learning through senses. Using dry porridge was also very interesting to use bowls and spoons which developed on the hand and eye co-ordination.

In the caterpillar room we have provided the small kitchen to encourage the children whom are pulling themselves up and standing independently. We have set out our picnic set and also provided real foods for their play too. This has began to build on their early role play ideas.

We we would like to welcome Arya and Molly into the Caterpillar room, both girls are setting into the nursery routine well and enjoying participating in activities with their peers.
