We have had a very spooktacular month preparing for Halloween! We created a haunted house in our home corner, filled with spiders, spider webs, pumpkins and ghosts!  We all helped to create our decorations for around our room.  We made some great ‘mummies’ using toilet roll tubes and white tissue paper, they looked fantastic!  We have also enjoyed exploring lots of different textures, including creating wonderful potions using shaving foam, different colours of water, pasta and peas!  It made a lovely, slimy potion in our water tray!

We had a wonderful Halloween party which included carving pumpkins, making witches hat biscuits using icing and chocolates.  We also created ‘monster’ apples using chocolate and edible eyes and enjoyed them at snack time. We all looked great dressed up in our costumes!  We went bobbing for pears in the garden, some of us used a fork instead of putting our faces into the water!

We have been exploring role playing within our room this month, making a ‘hospital’ in our construction area.  We created a bed for the patient who was sick, a waiting area for the visitors, and had the equipment to check up on the patient to see how  she was doing and gave her medicine to make her feel better!
