This month the Dragonflies have been talking about farms!  We have created some beautiful artwork of some tractors and other machines using different materials.  We used chickpeas, green peas, mud and other things too.  We have also been discussing the role of the farmer, and what happens on the farm.  We then decided to take a walk along to Polson Park and have a look at the animals at the farm there.  We saw some chickens, turkeys, ducks and ponies! We have also planned to set up a hamper for parents and children to donate some food for Harvest.

We have also been practicing our letters and letter sounds to help recognise the letters in our names.  We have been playing games at group time to progress this and used flash cards to practice the sounds that the letters make.  We have also began practicing how to write our names at the writing table.

We have also been working very hard on our independence this month.  We have been practicing putting our jackets and shoes on by ourselves.  When going out to the garden our teachers have been showing us how to put our jackets on independently and showing us the tricks of how to do it on our own!  We have been practicing very hard and developed a sticker chart which allows the children to see their progress and achievements on the wall!
