This month Shirley’s group has been working on shape recognition with shapes with more sides, ie. Pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, octagon, nonagon and decagon. They have also been practicing addition using dots on the dice, and counting how many dots there were all together. They have also been developing recognition of numbers using their fingers and finding other ways to make the numbers, ie. 2 fingers and 4 fingers makes six, instead of 5 and 1.

Lindsey’s group have been developing their maths. They have been playing games which allows them to match the number on the dice to the number on the cards. Then they added all the dots to see who had the most. They have also been developing their letter recognition of the letters in their name.

We have also had a very spooky month making decorations and taking part in Halloween activities! We carved some pumpkins and had great fun pulling all the gooey insides out! Some of the children even tried a little bit! We also made some spooky pumpkins using different coloured paper. We explored some slime and gluck with eyeballs, spiders and other creepy crawlies!
