Today the morning nursery and Primary 1 enjoyed another very successful Thriving Thursday! The numeracy and maths focus this time was “Pattern” and the children found out that there are lots of patterns to be found during “Diwali”, the Hindu Festival of Light, which takes place at this time of year. The children took part in four workshops which involved making Rangoli patterns with coloured sand, making and decorating clay divas, using pasta to make beads with colour patterns and using sound and movement patterns to create a Diwali Stick Dance. Later Kalan’s nana visited us, wearing the most beautiful sari, and she told us all about Diwali and the celebrations that last for five days! Many thanks to Nana and well done boys and girls for giving your best effort!
