This morning Primary 1 worked effectively as a team to solve problems with numbers. First the children were each given a number mat and they had to make a road together starting with the smallest number. (A lot of deliberating, negotiating and cooperating was required to complete this task!) Then everyone had to look for patterns, spot the mistakes, count in ones and twos forwards and backwards and have a go at “give us a clue”. The children had fun with the numbers and they are looking forward to making up and solving more numeracy problems during their daily visits to Number Land. Great work boys and girls!
