P2 Visit to the John Gray Centre

On Tuesday P2 visited the John Gray Centre in Haddington to learn about what life was like in East Lothian 100 years ago and to see a painting by William Marshall Brown called Hoeing The Fields. We were surprised to see that the women in the picture were wearing long skirts to hoe the fields! We imagined how muddy they would get.
Then after time to eat snack in the library we went upstairs to try being Impressionist Artists ourselves. Using chalk pastels we created our own country scenes.
We would like to say a big thank you to Abbie who taught us and showed us how to create our own works of art.
Everyone we met commented on how well behaved and polite the class were. Great ambassadors for our school.
