Primary 5 visited the nursery this afternoon to read with them. They were asking them about the story and quizzing them on their colours and counting things in the pictures.
P5 embarked on a mission to restore our Wood of Wonder meadow this morning. John Harrison, our wonderful local ranger helped us to identify and collect seeds from the reserve. Our next step is to plant them back at school and then plant them in our meadow. Thank you to John and to our parent helpers.
Primary 5 enjoyed a workshop delivered by Katie, our local archaeology expert and Martin and Callum from Lamp House (http://www.lamphousemusic.co.uk/).
I was amazed by how much they remembered about their Anglo Saxon topic. They found out about an exciting opportunity coming up for budding musicians in the October holidays – More information to follow.
They learned how to up-cycle junk and create their own trumpets!
Primary 5 enjoyed a wonderful workshop delivered by Katie Roper, who is a community archaeologist from the AOC (http://www.aocarchaeology.com) Katie taught the class more about the Anglo Saxons and then they all made timber halls.
Thanks Katie!
Please take the time to read a case study written by John Harrison, Warden at Aberlady Bay Local Nature Reserve. It really sums up all the hard work and enthusiasm from last term.
