WOW!

Well the Showcase was here! The grand opening of our Wood of Wonder and the showcase of all our learning about John Muir. The kids were absolutely amazing and showed their passion and enthusiasm for everything ‘John Muir’. Thank you to all the parents for their support and wonderful comments.

P5 Powtoons showing our School Improvement Plan (at last!)

At the start of the year, Mrs Currie gave Primary 5 the ambitious task of creating an animation to show our School Improvement Plan. Each group focused on a different area and here are some of the results. Due to technical issues, we have not been able to publish these before now. We also used images from the very talented artist Keith Haring because we were studying him in class.

P5 Visit Waterston House

Primary 5 wanted to learn more about birds to investigate which birds we can attract in our Woodland area so they visited the SOC (Scottish Ornithologists Club).
They researched different birds, developed their sketching skills, identified where we find birds in East Lothian and learned about a wonderful artist called Jane Smith. Here is a link to their website:

P5 Sky Hawk Animations

Primary 5,6 and 7 were all lucky enough to attend the Lennoxlove Book Award Ceremony on Tuesday where they watched some fantastic presentations by Cockenzie, Dunbar and Sandersons Wynd Primary schools. Primary 5 have been studying Sky Hawk for the past few months and have made these incredible animations. Gill Lewis, Piers Torday and Nicola Davies were the 3 fantastic authors who were there answering questions. They were truly inspiring!.
We hope you enjoy our animations.
