Today we celebrated Harvest. We considered thankfulness and the Syrian refugee crisis. We have extended the deadline for donations as some of our pupils are still wanting to bring in items for the children. On Friday we will be giving the Aberlady families heading to Greece the boxes of your generous donations to give to the Syrian refugees.
Thank you to everyone who donated food, toys and blankets to our collection for The Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. A group of pupils delivered them yesterday.
The cats and dogs were very pleased to see them!!
We have been making funny faces and collecting money for Comic Relief today.
Can you guess how much money Aberlady Primary School pupils have raised to help needy people in the UK and Africa?
Watch this space for an announcement of the total…………
As part of our Scottish Week, we held a Tattie Bogle Competition. Pupils decorated potatoes on a Scottish theme. Some of the entries included an Aberlady Bay Monster, a variety of potato animals and birds, a Scottish Tooth Fairy, bagpipes and many more weird and wonderful ideas.
Congratulations to G., L. and L., who won first prize and runner-up prizes for their wonderful designs.
We also raised £38 for Scottish Shelter, to help support homeless people in Scotland. Thank you everyone who entered.
