Thank you to everyone who entered our Remembrance Day poster competition and donated to the Poppy Scotland Appeal – Ayla, Niamh, Daisy, Jasmine, Leah, Stephanie, James, Edith, Esther, Martha, Charlie, Anna, Alexander, Clara, Owen and Angus.
Special congratulations to Amy and Jacob, who designed the winning posters. A very special entry was designed by Aaron, James’s little brother, who is only 2 years old!
What a busy morning at Aberlady! After break, we formed a human chain of children from the school office ……. along the corridor……..down the steps…… along the path…… and out to the school gate. One by one, we passed the 69 boxes for The Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Child Appeal out to the van.
Working together, we got the job done in a very short time. We were very happy when Mrs I’Anson placed the very last box in the van!
Members of our Charity Committee, along with ten raffle prize winners, visited Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home this morning to deliver our donations of food, toys and equipment.
Thank you to Mrs Russell and Mrs Donaldson for coming with us. It was interesting to see all the cats and dogs, of all different shapes and sizes, and to see how well they are looked after. We hope our donations will make their lives a little happier until they are rehomed.
Thank you to everyone who donated food, toys and equipment for Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. We have more donations than ever before!
This morning, we selected the ten lucky raffle ticket winners who will travel on the bus to deliver the dontation to EDCH on Monday. The winners are: Lois, Lottie and Isla from the Nursery class; Ben, Elena and Jackson from P1; Abbie from P2; Rory and Madison from P3 and Sarah from P6. Harry, Emma-Lily, Charlotte and Eve, from The Charity Committee, will also go with them.
We look forward to hearing how they get on during their visit on Monday. We send our very best wishes to the staff, dogs and cats at EDCH.
A last minute reminder that tomorrow, 14th June, is the last day for donations for Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. We have already raised a huge amount of food, toys and equipment for our furry friends, and any more will be gratefully received.
We will be drawing the winning raffle tickets at tomorrow’s assembly to select the lucky people to deliver our donations to EDCH on Monday. Good luck, everyone, and thank you all for the very generous donations. There will be some wagging tails and purring at Seafield next week!
