Making Mink Rafts next Wed (22nd)

A mink was spotted on the nature reserve recently. Should this non-native species get established at the nature reserve it would cause real problems for the site’s wildlife.

Therefore we will be setting traps to catch them. And this is where you may be able to help.

There will be a DIY session at the reserve nerve centre (metal container) on Wed 22nd Feb to construct some rafts on which we will set traps. All the materials, tools, a blueprint and instructions will be there, all I need are one or two folk who know one end of a saw from the other to help construct them with me.

The rafts will be built with a tracking cartridge which will allow us to monitor other wetland animals that are using the site.

We’ll meet in the car park at 9.30am and by finished by 3pm.

Please let me know if you think you can help.
