Aberlady Bay Local Nature Reserve is an exposed area with very little shelter. Consequently, when it rains we get wet and when it’s hot and sunny we get hot and dry. However, with the right aids we can cope with such conditions fine well.
When it’s wet, bring a waterproof jacket and waterproof trousers.
If it’s cold, bring warm clothing (a few layers is good) and waterproofs (keeping the wind off makes a big difference) Also, a flask of hot drink does wonders.
If it’s hot and sunny, a hat, some sun cream and plenty of water will do the job.
