My friend, and former East Lothian guitar colleague, Richard Knowles, has organised a visit to Portobello High School by Allan Neave this Friday (26 Oct). In addition to teaching guitar at the RSAMD, Allan is also Director of the Dundee International Guitar Festival. Here is a breakdown of Friday’s events:

1:30 – 2:45 Ensemble Masterclass

2:45 – 3:00 Break – light refreshments provided

3:00 – 5:00 Individual Masterclass – students of Grade 5 and above playing – all others watching and learning

5:00 – 7:00 Break (refreshments not provided for this break)

7.00           Concert given by Allan Neave – also to include ensemble item and soloist(s) from individual master-class

The event is open to students from other schools and authorities. An all-day student ticket costs £7.00.
