Alzheimer Scotland’s new resources for care homes

Alzheimer Scotland has been working to respond to the main concerns expressed by callers to their 24-hour Freephone Dementia Helpline (0808 808 3000) and now have a suite of resources on their website’s Coronavirus Information Hub including podcasts and videos. A specific section provides information and resources for all those supporting people living with dementia in Scotland’s care homes.

MySSSC changes

From September this year you will no longer be able to record your learning in MySSSC. A new system is expected to be available in August/September and will allow learning to be recorded. 

The SSSC are encouraging users to move learning out of MySSSC before it is deleted in October 2020. They will be emailing users nearer the time with further information. 

Skin creams fire risk 

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has issued a press release to highlight the launch of a new campaign to raise awareness of the fire risk and the precautions that need to be taken when using skin creams.
