This is an update to the story we ran in Alison’s Blog on the 8th December about scammers pretending to be collecting information about the payment of the health and social care workers’ £500 bonus to get people’s bank details over the phone. As we reported then, we knew of at least one case where someone gave their details and had their bank account emptied. The scam is still going on, with more cases being reported by Glasgow health and social care workers. Please don’t share your bank account details with anyone on the phone.
If you want more information about what to do to keep your money safe from this sort of approach, check your own bank’s website for more information.
