Consultation: Parental Engagement Strategy

27 03 2023

The Parental Engagement Strategy was launched in 2017 and aims to ensure that all Parents/Carers are encouraged and supported to engage as partners in their children’s learning, and to become involved in the life of the school.  The strategy also ensures that it can continue to build on good practice and create further opportunities for our parents and schools to work together.

There are 6 strands to the strategy and we are seeking responses to evaluate the impact of each of them.

🌈HT Welcome Back: Parent/carer Handbook 🌳

9 08 2020

Dear parents and carers

This booklet is being shared to support the smooth transition back to our school building from the 12th of August 2020. We know that you will have many questions about what this will look like and I hope that this document will provide you with answers to these questions.

These arrangements will only be in place for as long as is required and will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. Where we discover that something is not quite working, we will find a solution and communicate that with our children and with you.

Kindest regards

Pauline McKay

4 12 2019

Do you have a spare few minutes to complete this survey?

“Dear Learner,

We are carrying out a review to find out how well East Lothian children and young people are supported at school.  This will help us understand what works well and also what we need to improve.

You can help us by completing an online survey that gives you the opportunity to share your views.   Use the web link below to complete the online survey.  At the end of the survey you will have the opportunity to leave comments.  All responses are anonymous.

ARRRRRGH! Storybook Bags are a Success!

25 10 2019

A great message we received from a member of our Campie Community – we thought you might like to see it…

“Thanks for the loan of the storybook bag over the holiday. We really enjoyed it, as you can see from the photo! What a fantastic idea – we’re looking forward to another one soon!”

Great to see children getting into their reading. If you would like to borrow a storybook bag then please contact Mrs Matheson. A full list of storybook bags can be seen in the Home Learning section of the school website.

Storybook Bags are now Available!

9 10 2019

Exciting news! Storybook Bags are now available to borrow from Campie Primary. If you enjoy reading at home with your child and want to take it to the next level then these bags are perfect. Most include some stories on a topic, toys and even games. Here’s one about Houses and Homes:

Here is a list of what is on offer from Campie, check them out – literally!

Anyone can borrow the Storybook Bags but they might be more suited to P1 and 2s.

If you’re interested e-mail Mrs Matheson with the bag number and title as well as the name and class of your child. She will then  do her best to get it out as quickly as she can.

We do ask that all items in the bags are treated carefully and that they are returned in the condition they were loaned (or better). Also, once you are finished the Storybook Bag can you please return it quickly so other children may have the opportunity to use it – 1 bag at a time please.

We hope you have a great time reading, playing and exploring with your child! Happy reading!
