Having Fun with our P5 and P2/3 Maths Buddies! on PhotoPeach

P2/3 had a super morning learning more about shape, position and movement with their P5 maths buddies. They played three different games which helped teach them more about positional vocabulary and different ways to move. We are all looking forward to our next maths session after the holidays!

P2/3 had a fantastic time exploring how they can balance, slide, swing, climb and roll with Mrs Clapperton, our P.E. Specialist Teacher. All of the children were given the opportunity to work cooperatively with each other to create balance sequences on the floor mats, balance on the bench and jump and spin or do head stand rolls from the vault while others climbed up the high bars and swung on the ropes.

Enjoying Musselburgh Library with P2/3! on PhotoPeach

P2/3 had a super time visiting Musselburgh Library last week. Caroline, one of the librarians, read to the children before giving them time to explore all the different story books, audio books and information books on offer. Everyone loved reading to each other and using the computer to scan and borrow their own books to take home and share with their family and friends. We are all very excited about our next visit.

P2/3 had a fantastic time in gym balancing, jumping and rolling. They explored how their bodies could move and worked with partners to create some amazing balance shapes on the floor mats. Everyone loved jumping from the vault box and making shapes high in the air before they landed safely on the padded mat. We are all very excited about next week’s gymnastic lesson!

Tux Typing Skills with P2/3 on PhotoPeach

P2/3 used the ‘Tux Typing’ software to help develop not only their keyboard and typing skills but also their knowledge of the alphabet when they visited the school computer suite for the first time this session. Everyone had great fun learning to navigate the computer keyboard and find the correct letter to type in before the timer ran out. Next week we are all looking forward to attempting the next level which means typing in words rather than just letters for even more of a challenge!
